Welcome to the online release of the FIRST PERSON radio demo!

FIRST PERSON, a weekly, 24 minute radio program, was created out of a simple desire to pass along to you the stories of people whom I bump into every week as I host a variety of radio projects. Sometimes it’s not possible to spend concentrated time with guests, allowing them to speak freely about their life and experiences, learning how God works through people to build His Kingdom. FIRST PERSON will give that opportunity. Some of the guests will be names you recognize. Others you will not. But all will teach you something about trusting Jesus Christ more fully with your life.

If you are a radio station programmer, FIRST PERSON will be available via FTP each week, beginning October 1, 2010. Please email me at wayne@wayneshepherd.net if you would like additional information about placing FIRST PERSON. The program will contain no financial appeals and at this time is not sponsored by anyone other than myself. It’s that simple.

This new radio show will have a dedicated website in a few weeks, but while that is being constructed this is our temporary home away from the studio. When it is built, the FIRST PERSON website will contain an audio archive of each week’s show and all past programs, as well as a calendar of upcoming guests and topics. We also plan to release FIRST PERSON as a podcast on ITunes and elsewhere– details to follow.

COURAGEOUS DADS for Father’s Day

The COURAGEOUS DADS Father’s Day Radio Special is fully produced and available to radio stations through Rennaissance Communications.  It’s a 54 minute program with local cutaways.

The COURAGEOUS DADS Special was largely produced on the set of the COURAGEOUS movie– the latest from the creators of FACING THE GIANTS and FIREPROOF.  It features interviews with Alex and Stephen Kendrick, Pastor Michael Catt, and Jim McBride.  These men spent a year in prayer before ever attempting to start producing another film and feel the call of God to proclaim the themes of courage, integrity, and spiritual leadership.

COURAGEOUS DADS also features an interview with Mark Hall of Casting Crowns, and songs by Casting Crowns, Revive, Michael W. Smith, and Jars of Clay.

Happy Man Revisited

Cleaning and organizing an office cupboard today, I smiled as I ran across a few CD copies of Happy Man, a radio special featuring Buddy Greene, Jeff Taylor, Mike Card, and Keith Compton.  Produced over 3 years ago, Buddy had just released his Happy Man CD when he joined us for an IN THE STUDIO with Michael Card radio program.  That evening, after finishing Mike’s show, Producer Joe Carlson and I cooked up the idea of staying a little longer in the studio and knocking out a radio special– in one take.  No rehearsal, no big plan or even a paycheck–  just have a group of friends play some music in the studio and enjoy each other’s company.  It was one of those days I’ll never forget and I thought you might enjoy hearing the result.  It’s nearly an hour long, but I bet it will make you smile.  A lot.

Know The Truth Radio Is Launched

A new, 25 minute daily radio program titled Know The Truth has been announced here at the National Religious Broadcasters convention in Nashville.  Featuring the Bible teaching of Pastor De Courcy of Kindred Community Church in Anaheim Hills, CA, Know The Truth will start broadcasting on March 15 and will be made available to stations all over the country.  One of it’s first releases will be on KKLA in Los Angeles.

It is my privilege and honor to serve as the host/announcer for this exciting new ministry which will be produced and represented by my good friend Roger Kemp and his team at Roger Kemp and Company.

Who is this pastor with the Irish accent?  He was born and raised in northern Ireland by committed Christian parents.  While working as a street cop in law enforcement, Philip felt the call of God to study for the ministry.  That crossroad in Philip’s life led him to southern California where he attended The Master’s Seminary.  After earning his degree, Philip began working and teaching local churches.  And today, he’s the senior pastor at Kindred Community Church in Anaheim Hills, California.  Philip is married to June and they have three daughters.

On Know The Truth you can expect the straight- forward proclamation of God’s inspired Word.  This daily program will be a place you can count on to hear in-depth teaching from the Bible and it’s application to every aspect of our lives.  To learn more about Know The Truth and Philip’s ministry, visit the soon-to-be launched website KTT.org.
